The Spada Codatronca was created by the same guy who brought us the Smart Car. You wouldn’t think it would you!
Stylish, sleek, original are just a few adjectives that describe this incredible car that can reach speeds of 208 mph.
The back of the car has been effectively lopped off hence the name Codatronca which means “cut tail” in Italian. This design feature gives the car a decent load space, two aluminum seats and a magnesium roof.
Due to go on sale in 2008 the Spada Codatronca will come in two flavours - the 600bhp Turismo Sportivo and the 700bhp TS Veloce.
Both cars will go like the clappers. Interestingly, if you get overtaken by one a digital readout on the rear of the car will inform you exactly how fast it was going. Not too clever if you go past a police car of course!!
Due to retail for £85,500 ($171,000).

For someone with a passion for cars, but without the financial clout to buy the very best, the Ariel Atom is an absolute must.
Retailing at a very reasonable £23,000 ($42,550) you get a car that is a fraction slower than a formula one car and there is only one production car on the planet that can beat it in terms of acceleration and that’s the legendary, £850,000 ($1,572,500) Bugatti Veyron which can achieve 60 mph in 2.4 seconds, against the Ariel’s 2.8 seconds. That’s jaw droppingly quick.
The car gains substantial power from the 160bhp engine and is as light as a feather due to a tubular chassis and limited bodywork. For the really adventurous you can opt for the mid mounted Honda two litre, four cylinder engine which in supercharged form tosses out an impressive 300bhp.
