I reviewed Chocolate Shop a little before Christmas, and think it is just the thing for Valentine’s.  Yes, The Chocolate Lover’s Wine makes the perfect match and will delight many on Valentine’s Day. This really is the ultimate treat for chocolate lovers, and will be an experience like no other.

A fine balance between a seductive rich dark chocolate and premium red wine delivers a splendid twist over regular wines of choice for this special occasion. With inviting aromas of black cherry and rich dark chocolate combined, these continue on the palate surrounded by hints of cocoa powder and soft vanilla.

Commenting on Chocolate Shop, Lewis Jones, Managing Director of D&D Wines International, said:

“Chocolate and red wine is a classic pairing, so our new chocolate infused red wine is a truly indulgent treat for chocolate lovers. We believe it will make a fantastic Valentine’s Day treat”.

As an alternative to serving at room temperature, try Chocolate Shop as a short drink over ice or as a refreshing long drink by adding to fresh orange juice.

Or if you’re cooking up a delicious meal to celebrate try our simple recipe for sumptuous Chocolate Shop Tiramisu for a truly seductive and indulgent experience.

I love these earphones! OK, so they’re not the most beautiful bits of tech you have ever seen, but you get a quality piece of kit for the price!

The Etymotic HF3’s are understated, comfortable and perfect for the most demanding audio connoisseurs. Using noise isolation these earphones offer a high-end experience at a rather reasonable price of £134.95.

Comfort
One of the overriding perceptions that people have of in-earphones, is that they are uncomfortable – this is certainly NOT the case for the HF3’s, as their soft and flexible ear buds provide a superbly comfortable listening experience. Due to their malleable form, they sit snugly in the ear canal and lodge firmly in place, so you don’t have to worry about them falling out.

As I have larger and more cavernous ears, the large buds suited my needs just fine. However, if you’re not jug eared like me, then there are diddy ones for you to wrap your lug holes around. The provided ear bud shapes also vary just to make sure they suit your needs. Furthermore, Etyomotic offer a service that provides users with customisable earplugs – just to make sure you are comfortable! - http://www.etymotic.com/customfit/index.html

Sound
In terms of sound quality – the HF3’s score good marks, yet again! The speakers deliver crisp, sharp notes, which are a joy to listen to.  The bass is relatively good for an in-ear headset, but sometimes suffers at higher volumes. But it has to be said, the audio quality is comparable to far more expensive headsets, if not better!

Now we have got over Christmas and how commercialised it has become, I wanted to seek out alternative gift ideas.

The greatest gift of all could possibly be giving someone their confidence back, or being able to help with a separation or bereavement.

Forget jumpers and jigsaws, the greatest gift of all could be therapy.

One such therapist who could really help a loved one who may be suffering is Susan Werthem (MBACP) of Mindflow Counselling.

image

As well as counselling people who suffer with anxiety, stress, relationship problems and anger, Susan is also an experienced bereavement therapist, who worked with victims, families and survivors of the London 7/7 bombings.

Giving someone their life back cannot be measured and Susan, a counsellor in Hertfordshire and London at Mindflow Counselling will listen in a non-judgemental way.

If you are worried about someone close, you should maybe think about suggesting a consultation. It could be the most important gift you have ever given.

Jigsaws are a great favourite for many families.  And why not make jigsaws a way to bring loved ones together on Valentine’s Day.  We all get fed up of receiving chocolate on occasions such as this, so for those looking for any sugar-free alternatives, this jigsaw from Coiledspring Games could be just the gift for you!

This 1,000 piece puzzle is sure to engage everyone from hubby to the little ones. It could be a great way to get the whole family doing something together on Valentine’s.  With this bright and cheerful heart jigsaw, you simple piece together these beautiful hearts to end up with a heart loving picture.  This is quite an intricate pattern of hearts, and it could take a while to complete, but just think of all the ‘family time’ you will have whilst doing it!  The pieces themselves are extremely high-quality, smooth-edged and fit well.  This one is a must have for puzzle fanatics!

Rather than gorging your way through a box of chocolates, your family can get to grips with a real challenge and get their puzzling hats on.  It’s educational for the kids and enjoyable for everyone else!  At a price of £12.00 this also makes for a very affordable gift too.
