To test the performance of this electric shaver, I was advised to not shave for three days. I love my job! However, when it came to shave time on Monday morning, I was a little bit nervous. There is nothing worse than having your skin pulled to pieces as you try to shave off more than a two day growth.

The Power Sliding GTR is a truly wonderful RC car. In true Top Gear style, I took my GTR to an empty warehouse and gave this the road test of its life. The warehouse was chosen for its large test area, which was on a smooth polished concrete floor (ideal for the power sliding element).
What sets this RC car apart from any others is the motion sensitive handset (like a Wii!), so turn the handset left the GTR goes left. The only other buttons required are forward and back, which means you pick up complete control in seconds.

Trying to buy for the person who has everything and needs nothing is a daunting task, but I bet they haven’t got a Salter 505 Electronic Wine Thermometer!

This product retails for around £15 (cheaper on the net) and is a great gadget. You simply put it in the top of the bottle and it provides a digital reading as to the temperature of the wine.
You can therefore always serve wine at its optimum temperature.
Optimum temperatures:
• Tart, bright white wines: 48-52 degrees
• Sparkling wine: 50-55 degrees
• Rich white wines, like an aged chardonnay: 58-62 degrees
• Light red wines (Chianti, Beaujolais, young pinot noir): 60-65 degrees
• Heavy red wines: 63-68 degrees
The perfect temperature for any given wine will depend on how much fruit, tannin and alcohol it contains. No surprise that temperature remains a topic of debate among wine types.
It’s a safe bet, though, that you should never serve (or store) a wine above 70 degrees.
The Paperpod Rocket from the fantastic Nigel’s Ecostore is a flat packed, recycled bundle of fun.
With all the eco issues the world is having to contend with, it is refreshing to see a product made from recyclable materials. The Cardboard rocket is awesome, it stands nearly 2 metres tall when erect and can be used by toddlers to 7 year olds. The cardboard itself is tough enough to withstand the most boisterous of play – it survived my son’s joint birthday party, so it has been through a rigorous testing procedure!
This can be purchased from Nigels Eco Store for £29.99. This represents great value for something that can be used again and again – it folds flat after use.
Being cardboard, it comes ready to decorate, which the kids will just love. An innovative, unique and exciting gift, typical of Nigels eco store.
The 6 in 1 Solar toy, or Powerplus Chameleon as it is also known is a really nice bit of educational fun.
The set comes with many different pieces, in the style of Airfix. Pop the parts out and use the easy to follow instructions to make 6 different models. These are snap together, so the kit can be used again and again.
When the solar unit that is built into each model has contact with the sun, the model comes to life. You can make a windmill, plane, boat, puppy, revolving plane and car. I think that this is the perfect gift for the difficult to buy for 8 – 12 age group. I also think that this is something that parent and child could really benefit and enjoy doing together.
When you consider the alarming rate of climate change, Just how important is this solar toy? Inspirational, educational and most importantly, Fun.
