I had never heard of Le Creuset until my wife disdainfully pointed out that they were simply the best supplier of kitchenware there is. I should have known of course!

I have to say that since playing with some of their products, I have been illuminated. Their sturdy, rugged quality is really quite refreshing in an age where things tend to look and feel like their meant to last 2 seconds of moderate use!

Anyway, with all this in mind, I heard that Le Creuset are now pioneering high end quality stainless steel products.

Described as:

“Super sleek range of 3-ply stainless steel cookware benefits from the latest advances in stainless steel with the use of 3-ply technology; an aluminium core sandwiched between two layers of premium stainless steel, which promotes an even cooking temperature throughout and helps produce the best possible cooking results every time.”

Teal is the hot new colour of the catwalks - “So why not use it in Kitchenware” thought Le Creuset.

image

It’s a little too loud for my tastes, but if you want high end kitchen products in a colour that will burn your retinas, then this could be for you!

Le Cresuset say:

“With interiors stylists and fashion designers dictating Teal as the big news for 2008 and beyond, why not update your kitchen wardrobe with a piece of Le Creuset Teal. Available in a variety of shapes in Cast Iron, Stoneware, and Silicone, the Le Creuset Teal Collection has a piece for everyone.”

The Le Creuset Teal Collection includes:

With energy prices on the rise, we’re all going to be looking a little closer at conserving electricity. With that in mind the Kenwood Energy Sense Kettle offers the opportunity to shave upto 35% off your traditional kettle’s electricity consumption.

image

The design incorporates a lightweight body, wide angle spout for non drip pouring (a personal gripe of mine). A combination of the improved element and clear visibility can allow you to boil up the exact amount of water you require.

To add to the Kenwood Energy Sense Kettle’s green credentials - it’s packaged in recycled cardboard and a reusable cotton bag.

Not a bad gift for those looking to save energy and money.

Retails for £39.99 ($80 approx).

For the lazy cook, the Electrolux Inspiro could be the next must have kitchen gadget.

image

This oven utilises breakthrough heat management technology to automatically select the right heating mode based on the contents of the oven.

Rather than just measuring the air temperature with a thermometer and regulating it with a thermostat, the way a conventional oven operates, Inspiro uses sensors to calculate the precise combination of energy consumption and time needed to bring the food to the correct temperature. This is similar to the way cameras now automatically set aperture, exposure time and focus, depending on the light and what’s in the frame.

Available from Autumn 2008, expected to sell at around £1000 ($2,000).

My Secret Kitchen is the UK’s first food and drink tasting company.

image

The concept is the brainchild of Clare and Phil Moran who wanted to broaden the opportunities for tasting and buying unusual foods, ingredients and drinks.

Clare Moran says

“My background is very much about food, having completed a degree in Food Science and experience with a large seasonings manufacturer in the development kitchens, most importantly though, is the creative flair, which has helped give an unusual twist to a lot of the products. Phil has spent most of his working life selling flavours and seasonings around the world, but he has always had a curiosity of how different foods would sell in the UK, which again has influenced some of the products that Clare has developed.”

The products marketed through My Secret Kitchen come ready to use, or require the addition of a few other ingredients and are free of artificial colours or flavours.
