School is coming to an end for the summer.  Having two young boys myself, I am in a way dreading it!  Don’t get me wrong, I love spending as much time as I can with my darling boys, but keeping them entertained can be difficult!  Two months can be a long time without the help of school, so finding something that can assist me is more than welcome!  We all like our kids to be active (there are way too many couch potatoes!), so to introduce a new bat and ball game to them will be a marvellous way to get them outside.

Do you remember the game ‘Swingball’? I loved it when I was growing up.  Well, the makers of Swingball have now introduced Tailball, giving you a fresh new take on the traditional bat and ball game.  It features a unique ‘tail’ which makes it easier to hit, gives better hand to eye co-ordination and just makes it more fun!  This will make it a perfect remedy for the summer holidays as it can be enjoyed by all the family and friends.  Being very portable, you can enjoy Tailball wherever you go.  Be it a trip to the seaside, playtime at the park or even just at a barbecue.  Everyone who plays will want to master the game and be the Tailball champion!

Guy Orr, head of product development at Mookie Toys, the company that owns Tailball and Swingball, states:

“Everyone is familiar with Swingball and it’s still a very popular game. However, we decided it was time to develop a new product which offers a fresh new challenge, and the result was Tailball. We’re confident that Tailball is going to prove just as popular as Swingball, and will soon be played across gardens, parks and outdoor spaces everywhere as families look to become the top Tailball talent in their area.

The perfect game for outside is the Tailball Back Pack Attack.  It comes supplied in a hard case back pack with straps, so your child can easily carry it with ease, as it weights very little.  Consisting of a portable net, two Tailball bats and a Tailball, it really is the perfect activity in which your kids (and the grown-ups) will thoroughly enjoy.  Not only is there hours of fun, but your kids will also get great exercise from it.  The Tailball Back Pack Attack is absolutely ideal for bringing on holiday with you, and retailing at £29.99, you really will get your money’s worth!

Tailball Extreme will give you that little bit more from your Tailball.  The Extreme is strictly for outdoor usage and will be the perfect game for any outdoor entertainment this summer.  Retails at £14.99.

Even if it is raining outside, you can still get your Tailball fix!  Available is the Tailball Light, which can be played both indoors and outdoors, retailing at £12.99.

If you like a game of Frisbee, then you should try out the Tailball Flyer.  This game will make the Frisbee side of it much more fun and exciting.  Another great game for the kids to play with.  Retails at £8.99.

Lastly, if your kids like a throw and catch game, why not try the Tailball Rocket Zoomer.  This adds a little difference to the traditional game, one that all kids of any age will love.  Retails at £9.99.

Taillball is available to purchase at Toys R Us stores nationwide

Hardly known as a Gift Mecca, but There are some fabulous wines available from the Co-op, meaning you can dash out to your local store and still make Dad’s day this sunday.

Finca Las Moras Bonarda is a cracking bottle of red. I fear Argentina are going to be superior this world cup, and this Argentinian Bonarda is the same. Made in the San Juan area of Argentina, it has a fantastic aroma of red fruits and blackberries and touches of vanilla and roasted coffee.

It is bold, exciting and full of flavour - A bit like animated Argentinian manager, Diego Maradona. Unlike Maradona, this is honest and pleasant. (and unlike me, not bitter - yes I still remember the hand!)

Right, away from the (all consuming) Football!

To go along with this outstanding Red, Co-op are also offering a lovely Pinot Grigio - perfect for these wonderful sunny days we are having.

To make this an even tastier treat, the Finca Las Moras Bonarda will be on offer in Co-op stores from June 16th until July 7th, with two bottles for just £8 – a cracking bargain at just £4 a bottle, compared to its recommended retail price of £4.99 per bottle.

Go on, Make your Dad smile!

The summer is here, and the festivals are upon us.  The many people, who like to ‘party’, also like to take care of themselves (if they are fit to), and most importantly look after their skin!  Our skin can easily show the signs of a partied out supporter. This is mainly down to excessive sun exposure, high levels of alcohol consumption, lack of sleep, sweating and generally less washing than usual due to lack of amenities.  With this all combined, our skin concerns become obvious.  We can suffer from redness, itchiness and eczema and also cold sores.

So thanks to the Skin Shop, you can now make sure that the prevailing sensitive skin, or just problem skins stay safe over this festival period.  The Skin Shop has three products to help you do just that.  These must have products are:-

• KALME SPF25 Day Defence
• Defensil
• Liquorice Balm

The new KALME SPF25 Day Defence cream is a Caper and Zinc sun cream which will keep skin KALME! It has a triple action on skin: providing Sun Protection, reducing Redness, and providing 24 hour moisturisation. Clinically proven, this cream will reduce your skins sensitivity by 70%, an amazing percentage, and at the same time combat skin dryness and dehydration

KALME day Defence also contains a patented antioxidant called NDGA, which is up to100 times more effective than vitamin E, C or grape seed and proven in clinical trials to reduce skin inflammation.
KALME Day Defence does not contain steroids or chemicals, but is made from naturally active ingredients that have been clinically tested for highly sensitive skins and skins prone to redness.

For summer Eczema sufferers, the Skin Shop offers Defensil, a rescue skin serum which will bring you a quick relief.  My sister has suffered eczema her whole life, so I was more than happy for her to test out the sample I received.  And you know what?  It actually worked, she was shocked at the relief it actually gave her.  This cream offered her more relief than any other treatments she has tried!
Defensil combines two key natural ingredients, a concentrated extract from Cardiospermum seed and cold pressed Echium Oil, which has been shown in combination in trials to stabilise and regenerate the skin barrier and act effectively against itching caused by very dry skin and eczema.

The anti-itching effects of Defensil are due to the presence of natural steroids called phytosteroles in an isolated form of concentrated Cadriospermum seed extract called Beta-Sitosterol, which has been found in trials to help reduce the intense itching caused by eczema and very dry sensitive skin.

Lastly, you can kiss goodbye to summer cold sores with Liquorice Balm.  Sun is the main culprit for cold sore outbreaks, giving nearly 30 million sufferers worldwide.  For many, once they get the virus, they experience regular outbreaks of cold sores, sometimes as often as once a month and especially during the summer as not only is the sun a major trigger, but too much alcohol and lack of sleep can also contribute to outbreaks.
Liquorice Balm helps reduce such regular outbreaks. Unlike conventional treatments, due to its naturally derived ingredients, sufferers can wear the lip balm at all times, meaning that the intensity of the cold sore outbreaks could be diminished before they really have a chance to take hold.  Just rub into your lips as and when necessary, leaving them feeling nourished and well conditioned.

When I first sampled this superb Liquorice Balm, Liquorice All-Sorts came to mind.  I am quite fond of these sweets, so to have the taste every time I lick my lips is just wonderful.  Most definitely one to try out and one that will be in my handbag all summer.

Liquorice Balm costs £10.99 for 30g, Defensil costs £9.99 for 75ml and The KALME SPF25 Day Defence costs £19.99 (50ml). Available from http://www.skinshop.co.uk or call: 0844 7009975

When the English Cheesecake Company got in touch with me, my taste buds definantly were tingling.  I am such a cheesecake fanatic, could easily eat more than one serving at any time, no matter how full I am.  I just can’t say no if it’s offered to me!

Many of us often worry about what to get our Dad on Fathers Day.  Every year it’s usually the same thing; socks, or his favourite aftershave, or even a bottle of his favourite tipple.  Not really unique, is it?  So with the football season upon us, why not treat him to a delicious gift with a difference, to which he can share with all his loved ones.  Bring him up-to-date with the ‘fantasy football’ cheesecake from The English Cheesecake Company.  They state:-

‘Made of mouth-watering, deep vanilla cheesecake which rests on an indulgent chocolate biscuit base, the fabulously decadent ‘Fantasy Football’ cheesecake is just the thing to let your Dad know he’s the best. The cheesecake is crammed full of yummy milk chocolate balls, and if that’s not enough to satisfy even the most die-hard chocoholic Dad, the outline is hand-piped with chocolate fudge and the darker sections are created using the finest chocolate biscuit.’

Oh my goodness, I could read that over and over again.  You can just imagine the taste in your mouth, yummy scrummy!  The cheesecake is 8 inches and will serve 12 (well, depending on the size of the portion, much less if I was to get hold of it).  And, at a price of £23.99, for all that yumminess, it is definitely worth it!
image

If that isn’t enough, why not personalize it with a special message?  You can add a personalized plaque to the cheesecake from a vast and adventurous range offered by the company.  Many other gifts are available from The Cheesecake Company, offering a solution to any hard to buy for Dad; from ‘Milk Choc Bubble Trouble’ and ‘The Way to Amarillo’ to ‘Chocolate Cookie Mudslide’ and ‘Bohemian Raspberry’, you will most definitely find the one to suit your Dad.

Prices start at £19.99, depending on the size and variety; this includes free mainland UK delivery.  Adding a personalized disc starts at an additional £4.99, and are available to buy at http://www.englishcheesecake.com
