The blockbuster that was Transformers The Movie has set the scene for a complete domination of the Christmas 2008 toys market. Already, the best selling toy on Amazon is the Transformers Movie Leader - Optimus Prime.
But I would bet that the aside from the iconic Optimus, the Transformers Movie Ultimate Bumblebee will put up a very strong fight.

Retailing for £79.99 ($160) the Bumblebee is described by Toys R Us as follows:

These babies have got to be the ultimate gift for the house proud. Quite simply they will keep your home clean, while you walk from room to room.

They don’t look great in this snot green colour but that’s a minor detail. I’m sure they will be offered in more appetising colours…
Apparently they’re still at the concept stage, but if Electrolux can get the fundamentals right I’m sure every housewife on the planet will want a pair.
It’s doubtful that their going to win any fashion prizes but who cares when there saving on the housework!

The durability of laptops has long been a problem. To be fair, technological advances are beginning to tackle this problem.

However, if you really want to ensure that your laptop is protected it’s best to invest in some sort of high quality case.
The best one that I know of (which would make a great gift incidentally) is the 1080 Peli Polypropylene Laptop Case. Rumor has it, that you could drive a truck over this thing and it would remain in tact. Richard Hammond of Top Gear fame actually did this to another Peli model.

I’m a big fan of Jonathan Yeo the popular British portrait artist. His depictions of Tony Blair, Rupert Murdoch and others show real depth (something often lacking with other artists).

However, the headline catching Bush Porn Collage shown above appears to be a blatant play for publicity. The piece is made up entirely from torn up pieces of pornography and funnily enough it’s actually a very pleasing likeness. Leaving the politics aside I do think it’s a little bit crude.
I suppose the point is that it’s provoked reaction and discussion. But and it’s a big but, does a truly great artist like Mr Yeo really need to plumb the depths like this?

The Spada Codatronca was created by the same guy who brought us the Smart Car. You wouldn’t think it would you!

Stylish, sleek, original are just a few adjectives that describe this incredible car that can reach speeds of 208 mph.
The back of the car has been effectively lopped off hence the name Codatronca which means “cut tail” in Italian. This design feature gives the car a decent load space, two aluminum seats and a magnesium roof.
Due to go on sale in 2008 the Spada Codatronca will come in two flavours - the 600bhp Turismo Sportivo and the 700bhp TS Veloce.
Both cars will go like the clappers. Interestingly, if you get overtaken by one a digital readout on the rear of the car will inform you exactly how fast it was going. Not too clever if you go past a police car of course!!
Due to retail for £85,500 ($171,000).
