If your Dad is a ‘green’ Dad, likes to have everything ‘Eco’, and is also hooked on his iPhone, smartphone, iPod or the new iPad, then proporta have the ideal gift for him this Fathers Day. This truly eco range of mobile accessories are just beautifully designed and look very smart indeed. My very generous and kind friends recently bought me an iPod for my birthday, and the only thing missing was that perfect cover to protect it. Now I have found the most amazing looking holder for it.
The skilfully designed Recycled Leather Case looks very chic. It hosts a bamboo screen protection that will protect your handheld device from knocks and bumps, much needed if you are forever on-the-go, like most of us are! The Bamboo plate which comes with the packaging, also acts as your screen shield by simply popping into the top of your case, very clever indeed.

Other options available are a pouch style in either recycled leather or in a soft hessian. These also offer protection by inserting the bamboo plate in these options.

Proporta has themselves declared to be really proud of their new product range. Joint founder Guy Monson states:-
“In early 2008, we decided that we wanted to do more than simply pay money to offset carbon emissions and rename products “green”. Ever since then we’ve been conducting extensive research on how we can run our business in a more sustainable manner – looking at every aspect, from the drawing board to the manufacturing and supply chain. Proporta Smart is the culmination of this and we hope we shall be able to adapt some of the best features from the range into the rest of our products”.
The Proporta Smart range is available to purchase online from http://www.proportasmart.com priced at:
£29.95 for the Recycled Leather Case with Bamboo Screen Protection, £19.95 for either of the pouches and £34.95 for the Recycled Leather Case for iPad

Jessops have been in the photography business for 75 years. They have grown and prospered because of their professional approach, dedication to customer service and giving good value for money.
If You are stuck for ideas this Fathers Day, you have to check out Jessops’s web site. It is packed full of gift solutions.
My favourite option has to be the Personalised Canvas prints - from just £27, they are available in 5 sizes and are printed on high quality polycotton stretched over a wooden frame. I ordered mine online on sunday and it was with me two days later. Canvas is so much more special than a plain old print. My opinion, of course, but because of the added dimension it gives, my canvas looks the business.

Because this is a big year for Jessops, they have some 75 years celebration special offers. You can order a massive 31” x 40” canvas print for only £75.
Also, how about a soft cover photobook starting at £7.50 (well over half price). As further gift ideas, There are also mugs, teddy bears or the ultra funky laser engraved crystal photo (For only £20! A real talking point)
So, Thankyou Jessops. Thankyou for really good deals, a wonderfully easy website to navigate and an excellent service - Heres to another 75 years!

Being designed to make every day living easier, the OXO range includes more than 200 practical tools for use in the home. ‘OXO’s innovative thinking, rigorous development process and unique design continues to raise the bar for household tools today.’
So, for those wine loving Dads, why not treat him to the New Steel Winged Corkscrew? Now this is the most impressive corkscrew that I have handled, even OXO think that it is the Daddy of all corkscrews (I totally agree). It feels exceptionally robust and has a soft, comfortable grip to it. Being incredibly sleek, this brushed stainless steel corkscrew has a non-stick worm that glides smoothly through any cork in one swift motion, with the greatest of ease. And, as a bonus, hidden within the turning handle is the stainless steel foil cutter, so you will never mislay it again. The Steel Winged Corkscrew is also dishwasher safe and can be bought for Dad at a well spent £20.

On this coming Fathers Day, why not hold a BBQ for your loved ones. Then Dad can take to his favourite standing position and show off his cooking skills! OXO’s oversized barbeque tools will be perfect for helping him do just this. Once again these tools look the business, and will make the BBQ season much easier for everyone. The BBQ fork (£11) hosts a sturdy, stainless steel head with a serrated cutting edge. And, the extra long handle will assist in getting to those hard to reach places without burning your hand; therefore, making turning those delicious steaks much easier. The BBQ turner (£11) will flip Dads favourite burgers, whilst checking they’re cooked with its serrated cutting edge. Or try out the extra long BBQ tongs (£13), perfect for turning or lifting your food. Offering function and form, these eye-catching tools will last year after year. Each tool has extra long comfortable handles to keep flames at a distance and is dishwasher safe to save time on cleaning up.

I have the perfect idea for every parent out there who may be worrying about keeping their little ones occupied during the long school holiday. The Nintendo Wii All Star Karate has it all - it’s fun, educational (I’m stretching the term educational) and energetic.
I know a lot of kids that will do nothing but sit in front of the TV, seem completely unmotivated and bored. Does that sound like anyone you know?!! Do you want to know how to stop this?!
Inject some fun into their summer holidays. All Star Karate is a great one player journey, where you will be guided by your own Karate Sensei. You get to learn all the Karate moves, history and terminology (the “educational” bit). The wise old Sensei is a little Yoda-like, factually to the point and very funny.

Unlock As You Train: Develop your skills in Career Mode to unlock new challenges and awards. Work your way through the 7 different colored belts until you achieve black!
The object of all your training is to defeat a villainous ninja. As a one player game, it has a lot going for it.
However, All Star Karate really comes into it’s own as a two player contest. My son - The Karate Kid - can really pull some moves that leaves my character KO’d. After a bout, we are both on the floor, panting, knackered and giggling away. After an initial training period, my son is moving about like I have never seen before.
If you do not want to hear “Mum, I’m bored!” (pronounced really slowly, of course) then this latest release is a great option. Now to crown this Wii game as a true champ - the price; £17.99!! (available at all good game retailers including Amazon, Play and Game) Released 28th May.
