Gift hampers are always a great Christmas gift, hint hint.... I love them because I love good food.
Turnham Green have tried to encapsulate the idea of a hamper with good food and good ethical standards.
Their recipes are based around naturally preserving seasonal produce for use later in the year and all their products are created to maximise goodness and flavour with the very best ethically sourced ingredients. The hampers are include Turnham Green’s condiments and baked goods which are accompanied by a variety of other items chosen for their quality and ethical integrity.
As with all Turnham Green’s hampers, the contents are packed into their environmentally friendly Turnham Green Jute Bags (a refreshing eco-alternative to old fashioned wicker baskets that also provide ample motivation to minimise plastic bags). Turnham Green’s products are all in recycled or recyclable packaging and protected with eco-friendly potato starch filler for their fuel efficient journey to their delighted recipients.

With energy bills rising month on month - I think a product like this Wattson electric meter will become almost invaluable.
Quite simply it tracks your electricity usage so that you can conserve your cash and save the planet. Not a bad gift for a wasteful friend…
On sale at Big Green Smile for £139.95 (you’ll probably easily make up that cost in saved electricity) - it is apparently easy to set up although if you have any doubts I would get in a qualified electrician.
Once set up a sensor attached to your main electric cable will communicate wirelessly with the Wattson, which you can position anywhere in your house.
Neat idea....
The Condor Classico is probably classified as one of the finest fixed gear bicycles on the market.
It’s not for the faint hearted, but fixed gear bikes can be a tremendously rewarding ride.
The Classico sports a retro frame and rides like the wind. The real benefit of the fixed gear, is in building up a good head of speed without feeling like a couch potato - i.e you’re gonna have to work for your mph.
The handling of the Classico is said to be quite amazing, but forgiving. You can even use the flip flop hub if you’re not ready to handle a truly fixed gear bike.
Eco shopping is all the fashion at the minute - and quite right too. Afterall the plastic bag has a lot to answer for.
That’s why I quite like the Hook and Go trolley by DeWeNe.
It’s sturdy and foldable - plus you can carry up to eight bags without squashing your goods.
DeWeNe sell organic canvas bags in black, silver, khaki and powder blue.
The trolley retails for £45 ($90) and canvas bags are £2.50 ($5) each.

Given the current environmental impact of manufacturing cars and other modes of transport I quite like this bamboo bike from Brano Meres.
I guess it makes great sense as a riding proposition too, as bamboo is incredibly lightweight and robust as material. It’s still in the concept stage, but this bike shows all the signs of being an uber eco green classic design....
Brano Meres is the designer of the bamboo bike - go check out his web site here.
