I am a dab hand at spotting a bargain when need be and the new Great British Golf Courses Vivabox is no exception. Basically for £100, you’re purchasing 9 rounds of golf at some of the UK’s most prestigious courses… normally £100 would get you half way round one!

The courses are dotted all over the UK including Spey Valley in Scotland to St Mellion in Cornwall. The box itself contains vouchers for each, a branded ball marker from every course as well as an informative guide to playing each course.

The courses included
 The Oxfordshire
 The Forest of Arden
 The Addington
 St. Mallion
 St. Pierre
 Carden Park
 Slaley Hall
 The Carrick
 Spey Valley

Every now and then a gadget comes along which we all here get very excited about, and as budding golf enthusiasts the G300 Shotmiser certainly makes the grade!

This product has to be every golfers dream gift!

This little device is installed with the latest GPS technology and basically lets you know the yardage to the green with each shot. It allows you to preview each hole and will also point out bunkers, water, trees and other hazards that need to be avoided. So, wherever your ball lands, this device aims to get you from the tee to green. Amazing!

The high-resolution, full-colour touch-screen rotates and zooms to help you position your next shot relevant to where you are. The screen updates every second so you can accurately work out your lay up with a reduced margin of error.

What’s more is that you can upgrade the device with the latest satellite navigation and speed camera detection software too.

You have to download golf course maps for £5 each from the Snooper website.

With Father’s Day fast approaching, you may want to give the golf enthusiast the ultimate gift - a fantastic Callaway Golf FT-i Driver.

I have tested this club with great results. Quite simply it’s light, it’s powerful and it’s sweet spot is that little bit bigger allowing some leeway for the truly amateur golfer. Oh and it also looks great!

Callaway say:

“The new 460cc Complete Inertial Design re-positions weight in the outer corners of the clubhead and is designed to produce the highest total inertia of any driver on the market. The resulting resistance to twisting (torque) provides, says Callaway, unrivalled forgiveness and more distance on drives.”

Retails for £400 ($780).

For some one who is a frustratingly erratic golfer, I love to dabble in any new technologies that claim to improve my game. There have been many gadgets and gizmos over the years, some of which we looked at here and here, which claim various things but don’t seem to deliver.

However, I may have found my golfing panacea in a square headed club like the Precision Made Red Square Driver Ti Matrix which retails for a very reasonable £39.99 ($80).

One of the most frustrating things about golf is losing your balls!
