Swiss luxury watch brand Ebel has teamed up with football’s Bayern Munich to become it’s official timekeeping partner.

image

The link up has produced an exclusive Ebel timepiece called the Calibre 245. It’s name refers to the two 45 minute periods in a football match and in fact the watch comes with a rather large 45 minute counter to help with game timing.

The Calibre 245 watch is housed within a derivative of it’s flagship 1911 line.  Limited edition versions with the insignia of each club will become available in October 2008, although you’re going to need £6,900 ($13,800) to purchase one.

This Pixel Sofa is definitely off the wall! In fact it is claimed that it’s creator Ron Arad ventures to the extremes of design and materials to produce products like this.

The sofa comprises several soft parallelepipeds conjoined and fixed to the base with the protruding nodules giving it the unique shape. This product will be presented at Salone Internazionale del Mobile.

Check out these funky Question Mark chairs created by Stefan Heiliger for Tonon.

Their aesthetic beauty rightly won them the Red Dot Design Award.

The shape has continuous curved structure supported by a central base in chromium plated metal. The central column has a 360° swivel function with return mechanism.

An expensive, but delightful gift for anybody....

Ok, this Maxx Chair by Arik Ben Simhon isn’t going to be to everybody’s taste. But for me it’s outlandish and almost sci fi in it’s looks. Great piece of originality for any room - and comfortable to boot.

Not sure on retail price - but probably not cheap....

This Winnie Lui white chandelier is a simply stunning example of contemporary design. We not sure of this objects price but expect big bucks.

image

Winnie Lui the creator of the white chandelier will be collaborating with UK lighting company Innermost to produce 50 white and 50 black chandeliers - all crafted from objects she has collected over the years.

Winnie Lui beleives it’s an exercise in composition and she obviously loves contrasting textures and reflections by placing different objects next to each other. Essential to her design work is celebrating the inherent beauty of everyday objects.
