The enforced Love fest that is Valentines day is over for another year, but that doesn’t mean we should ever stop the romance.

The personalised Love Is…. book is the ultimate in romantic declarations. The sentiment of this personalised book will leave your partner staggered and delighted by your thoughtfulness.

Itsyourstory.co.uk give you the opportunity to create a unique love gift, with details such as favourite film, meal, and restaurant present in text. A total of 24 illustrations will easily convey the love you have for your partner.

My Fiancee’s copy is always in her handbag, as she cannot miss a chance to show it off to just about everybody. The 1980s cartoons capture the sweet things about relationships so well, and to have it all personalised makes for a very special work of art.

This could be an amazing wedding present, engagement present or simply a gift that will be treasured always.

At £17.50, it really is a must have for anyone who is completely in love. That’s the price, but the true valuation of this book is clearly priceless.

Tool belts at the ready… Easter’s here!

We recently reviewed a few books closely related to DIY and thought we better tell you about them before you go swearing at that wall or needing to call out an emergency plumber.

The first book is aptly entitled ‘Storage’ and is written by none other than the creative genius that is Terence Conran. If you haven’t already guessed, the book is all about storage and is full of inspirational pictures that will have your home clutter free and looking good in no time.

Some of the storage systems in the book look rather technical and should probably only be build and designed by an expert BUT that’s not the point. Flicking through the pages is mighty fun and instantly fills you with ideas for employing a little Feng Shui in the home.

It retails for £16.99 and is now available in paperback and available from most good bookstores.

The second book we recommend is called ‘ASK – The 100 Most Asked Questions About The Home’. As the title suggests the book features 1000 quick fire questions you may have relating to the home, most of which are DIY related. It’s compact and full of goodies that you’ll find absorbing over a cup of tea. In fact it’s hard to put it down.

Some of the tips:
Q - ‘Can I soundproof a door?’
A – ‘Yes, you can buy strips that fit along the bottom edge of a door, that open and close automatically with the door’.
Q – ‘I have a loose kitchen drawer handle. What can I do?’
A – ‘Fit a washer next to the screw head and put some contact adhesive on the thread of the handle as you tighten it’.

It’s a great coffee time read and whilst many of the tips may seem pretty straight forward and obvious to the ‘man of the house’ it’s nice to know we are getting some things right at least!
Retails for £7.99 and the great thing about it is that the information never dates!
