We took a look at “The Shopaholics Top 1000 Websites” yesterday. Today it’s the turn of “The Gift Book” by Patricia Davidson.

This book is very much a focus on gift occasions, with a little background on each followed by some sage recommendations of where to make your purchase online.
I found the wedding section particularly handy…. There are also gift recommendations under themes like “Bookworm”, “Boy Racer” and “Pampered Princess” under which you could probably pigeon hole most people.
There is also a “special occasion reminder section” that provides details of websites that do just that. Handy if you’re a bit of an airhead like me.

Nicely presented and compartmentalised into handy categories. Each recommended online destination includes a summary of pricing levels, gift wrapping options, where it delivers to and whether it offers express shipping. Handy if you’re in a hurry to find an appropriate, online gift resource.

The book sifts through every genre of music imaginable, discovering the very best of its obscure artists and missing-in-action albums, to compile a guide to some of the music industry’s most fascinating behind the scenes stories.
Here’s a snippet of some of its contents:

- The Beach Boys’ – Adult/Child
- Bruce Springsteen’s The Ties That Bind
