Musiic Party: Rock the House, for the Nintendo Wii is being released on 29th April 2011.

Iconic Gifts were lucky enough to get preview copy and we can report this is a music game that will soon rival other established titles.

image

The game has 30 tracks, spanning back from the 60s to the early noughties. All absolute anthems, including Motorhead’s ‘Ace of Spades’, Blink 182’s ‘All The Small Things’ and Metro Station’s ‘Shake It’, as well as tracks from Razorlight, Pink, The Trogs and The Clash – a nice diverse selection.

There are two factors that will ensure this game’s popularity. First, you do not need to buy any extra peripherals, all game play is controlled by Wii remote’s and nunchuks. Second, as with most Wii titles, the emphasis is on fun…and there’s heap’s of it here!

Multiplayer modes can see you going head to head with your mate, or you can form a band of three and rock out in synch.

My own favourite, and the cause of a few late night’s recently, is the single player “rock star journey” mode. From roadie to rock superstar, you cannot help but get caught up in this one and get to the top, ending with a massive concert hall gig in Hollywood.

The motion element of the Wii makes this an easy game to pick up, taking control of the roles of Lead Guitar, Bass or Drums. The selection of music and the playability means this one will be played on and on.

Musiic Party: Rock the house is now available for Pre-order. Check-out musiicparty.co.uk for more details. All this fun, for just £19.99.

Encased in an ultra-lightweight and strong magnesium enclosure, Freecom’s Mobile Drive Mg combines elegance with functionality – and with a thickness of just 10mm, the Mobile Drive Mg is also the thinnest mobile hard drive available in the world.  It looks and feels great!

image
Visually, the colour and wafer-thin profile of the drive make it the perfect complement to the Apple MacBook, and what’s more, it is really easy to use – by simply plugging the hard drive into a USB port on a computer or notebook, users can quickly back up important data and share documents, photos, music and videos with colleagues, family and friends. It really is so easy, even I can use it!

From a more practical point of view, the incorporation of USB 3.0 technology makes it possible to transfer files in the blink of an eye.  For something so small (the length of an average pen!), it really does perform to a huge standard!

This fantastic Freecom’s Mobile Drive is currently available in the following capacities, with higher capacities to follow at a later date:-

• 320GB (£69.95)
• 750GB (£109.95)
• 750GB (£119.95)

The Mobile Drive Mg is available from the Freecom website http://www.freecom.com, as well as a range of online retailers such as Amazon.

LeapFrog Enterprises, Inc. is a leading designer, developer, and marketer of innovative, technology-based learning products and related proprietary content, dedicated to making learning effective and engaging for all ages, at home and in schools, around the world. They offer a range of educational toys aimed at infants, toddlers, pre-school and upwards.  And, we at Iconic Gifts just love their Leapster Explorer.

The Leapster Explorer from Leapfrog could well be the best present you could buy for your four to nine year olds.  What the Explorer delivers is the most powerful game play, including flash and 3D graphics, on the brightest touch-screen that Leapfrog has ever offered.

Leapfrog state:-

“The future of gaming is captured in this one-of-a-kind device that brings mobile learning and educational gaming to the millennial generation. With unique learning content, the next generation of gamers can learn and play at their own pace. Explorer offers auto-level game play to allow for a truly personalised learning and play experience that is tailored to each child’s unique needs and skill with games that auto-adjust so a child can learn at just the right pace.”

Learning and educational, can it get any better?  Well, not only that, but the Explorer allows you to personalise your play, change backgrounds, music and much more.  Also, as an extra bonus which many kids would just love is the Pet Pad app, which allows a child to choose and customise a pet.  My 5 year old has been playing this game system for a while now, and absolutely loves it!  It is so educational, and the new thing’s he learns each day is shocking to me.  I always say to him – ‘Charlie, how do you know that?’, and he always tells me, ‘Mummy, I told you before, from my Leapster!’  I highly recommend the Leapster Explorer, and think it’s the best first handheld gaming system that any child could have.

Samantha Harris, Marketing Manager from LeapFrog says:-

“Leapster Explorer combines cutting-edge capabilities like finger-touch and downloadable apps with solid educational content and child-friendly durability to allow fun and learning for all the family. Add the online Leap World for kids and Learning Path for parents, and you have a breakthrough device that provides guilt-free gaming and supports an incredible variety of ways to learn and play.”

Just add you child’s favourite cartoon or Disney character and you child really couldn’t be happier.  You can choose from many Walt Disney games, including, Disney Princess, Toy story, Dora and many more.  My little boy love to play Star Wars on his!

With the new click-in camera and video accessory, Explorer fans can now turn their Leapster Explorer handheld into a high-tech digital and video camera. The desirable camera and video accessory, allows users to take pictures, record videos and edit their creations whilst learning all about reading, mathematics and science. Children can also transform their pictures using funny stamps and borders and transport them into games or music videos to further customise their play.

If you like your games all blood and gore then Boxhead is the one for you! Being one of the biggest flash games online, this fast paced action-shooter game is now available for your iPhone, and what a great app it is!  Boxhead is basically a Zombie War game with colourful graphics, intuitive gameplay and an impressive legacy.

You play as Jon Bambo, a black-clad mercenary with an arsenal of deadly destructive weapons. Keep him alive against waves of flesh-eating zombies and fire-breathing demons using a staggering array of offensive and defensive weapons. It’s easy at first, but don’t get cocky. The stronger you get, the stronger and more numerous your enemies get.

image

I’m not really into shooting games as they all seem too similar to each other, and to be honest, bloody things just don’t do it for me.  But, I must admit that I am finding Boxhead a little addictive now!  I might play it a few times within the day, and love reaching new levels!  I think it is well worth the little money it costs to download.

So, if you are ready for the ultimate zombie invasion click here for purchase details.
