Maps Toys have produced some wonderful toys for children, and I would like to share their latest release with our readers. This Fire Power Super Soaking Fire House is a great toy for children these summer months, not to mention a great way of cooling down on a hot day!

This is a water soaker that you put on your back like a fireman’s backpack and use pump action to squirt a jet of water. The Fire Power Super Soaking Fire Hose is great for realistic, role-playing fun for junior fire fighters. Kids can fill up the tanks with 1 litre of water, strap on the backpack and squirt their mates for up to 35 feet – talk about fun! This fun water toy holds enough water for 60 pumps and has two settings to double the fun by offering both a single stream and a spray option. The fire-fighter fire hose backpack features a holster to store the nozzle when not in use.
I have two boys, and they love it! We have had so much fun playing outside, and this ‘water hose’ has added to it. In fact, I think their Dad has the most fun from it!
If you are looking for something fun to help fill the summer months, then this fantastic fireman role play toy is more than ideal - perfect for all budding little fire-fighters.

Do you remember The Rubix’s Cube? This puzzle has been around just as long as I have, and I absolutely love it! The Rubik’s Cube is an incredibly addictive, multi-dimensional challenge that has fascinated puzzle fans around the world since 1980 (I am giving my age away now!). With “43 Quintillion” possible moves and only “ONE” solution, it will keep you occupied for hours on end, day after day. I have tried and tried to solve the Rubix’s Cube, but as yet, cannot solve it! But, if you are like me, no puzzle is impossible and you keep on going – even if it is for years!

Nearly one in every five people in the world has twisted, jumbled and enjoyed this immensely popular puzzle. Rubik’s Cube is a six-sided, 3 x 3 cube puzzle with each side of Printed Polypropylene Plastic Stickers (bright colours - life of 750,000 rubs) solid colour when you receive it. The object is to twist and turn the Cube using various combinations to return it to its original state… every side finally having one solid colour. It comes with your own “Solution HINTS! Booklet” to help learn move sequences, various games with the Cube and step-by-step instructions toward the solution.
I recommend people to introduce this puzzle to the younger generation, as I can see it being highly popular over the next 30+ years! The Rubix Cube costs “12.99, and is available from http://www.johnadams.com.
Now, this is something I totally adore! I would be shocked if any parent has never heard of The Very Hungry Caterpillar (written by Eric Carle), as it has proven to be a very popular and classic children’s book. It is a wonderful book to read your child, and they will be filled with delight, no matter how many times it is read. My own children love this book so much, and knew all the words by the time they were two years old! It tells of the very simple story of a caterpillar eating his way through a variety of foods, becoming bigger all the time, until he turns into a butterfly. The artwork is glorious, with wonderful jewel-like colours capturing any child. So I was so excited to hear about a range of The Very Hungry Caterpillar tableware and gifts by Portmeition – absolutely stunning and delightful!

While caterpillars can be a nuisance in the garden, their sweet images are a treat for children (and adults) at anytime. But to have these images at mealtimes, I am sure any child will be more than happy to polish off any meal! The very Hungry Caterpillar range by portmeition, depicts adorable images from this classic children’s book, hosting a range of tableware to gifts. Guaranteed to bring a smile to your child’s face!
From plates to double handed mugs, to egg cups and cushioned lap trays, I feel any of these products would make a truly wonderful gifts for any young child. I absouletly love the Cookie Jar! Portmeirion’s Very Hungry Caterpillar Cookie Jar (£21.00) is a great children’s storage jar for bits and bobs as well as cookies. It is bright and bold, and kids will be delighted to eat cookies from it - not to mention the adults!

I have reviewed ‘All For Eve’ before, and absolutely love their products – I use them every day! So I am so excited about the newest addition to the ‘all for eve’ range, the fabulous Eve’s Balm. This is a must-have multi-purpose balm for even the driest of skin
With its base of nourishing sweet almond oil, blended with lavender, chamomile and wild mint, this balm helps to balance the loss of absorption of moisture making it particularly effective for chapped and irritated skin by softening the problem area without leaving a greasy residue. It will condition and revive all skin types whilst leaving a calming and comforting aroma thanks to the subtle lavender and chamomile notes that come through.

This balm really is wonderful, and what I love best about it, is that it has so many uses! It is perfect for keeping lips soft and nourished but also adds a little gloss to the lips. It can be used on its own or dabbed over a colour for added moisture. Your lips are left feeling truly luscious! You could even use Eve’s balm to highlight areas such as cheeks or lightly sweep over the eyelids for a glossy eye shadow. For such a little pot, it really does go a long way!
George Hammer, CEO all for eve Ltd says:-
“When expanding our product offering, it was important to us that we created a product that had the same luxurious qualities that the current range has but remained affordable to our customer base. We have used only the best natural ingredients which are suitable for the most sensitive of skin and I am positive that Eve’s Balm is the next balm to reach cult status”
It comes presented in a beautiful white soft touch pot complete with a handy pocket mirror and is priced at only £4.95. This fantastic Eve Balm is currently on sale at Urban Retreat, allforeve.co.uk and Beautique.com and will be rolled out to all for eve’s current distribution network of retailers including John Lewis, Debenhams, Harrods and Harvey Nichols.
What’s more is that every purchase made not only makes the perfect gift for a special lady in your life, but makes a great difference to other women’s lives. 100% of ‘all for eve’s’ net profit goes to The Eve Appeal, a women’s charity which raises funds and awareness for Gynaecological Cancer Research – fantastic!
