I am delighted to introduce our readers to bibsandstuff.com, the online store for unique and practical baby products.  This is the perfect place to find the ideal gift for your little ones, giving you fantastic selection to choose from.  But, if you are looking for bright ideas for little people, I think this Barbapapa Lumilove Base Light just the thing!

image

Are you familiar with the cute faced Barbapapa from the popular cartoon series of the 70’s?  Well he’s back and ready to light up your kid’s lives (and bedrooms!).  This beautiful light brings a comforting glow to children’s bedrooms so there are no more tears or fears at bed time.  This fun Barbapapa Lumilove Base Light is something that your child will love from onset.

The Barbapapa is soft to the touch and remains cool so he is perfectly safe to cuddle in bed (my little boy loves it so much, his favourite teddy has been kicked out of bed now!). To charge simply place him back on his ‘smart charge’ base, this is plugged into the mains, meaning no wires hanging from him. As soon as Barbapapa is removed from the base he glows automatically (he can be easily switched off to at the bottom) and he provides a gentle light for 11 hours.  Perfect!

Specifications are as follows:-

- Smart charger! No electrical contact. Simply charge by placing on base
- Once charged, glows for 11 hours
- Eco-friendly light source
- Soft removable light can be cuddled in bed
- Recharge level indicator
- Available in pink and blue
- Approximately 18.5 cm tall

The Barbapapa Lumilove Base Light is priced at £38.50, and is available from http://www.bibsandstuff.co.uk.

Nigel’s Eco Store provides practical, functional and beautiful eco friendly, natural and organic products.  I have reviewed a few products from this great store before, and have not been disappointed!  And, now to add to their fantastic range of products and making a great fun science gift for ages 4 and over, is the Colour Changing UV Beads.

image

These are UV beads or sunny beads, and I think kids will go mad for them; probably setting of the next big trend in school!  When these colourless beads are exposed to ultraviolet light (like sunlight), they change colour. When exposed to UV light, the chemical structure within the beads changes, allowing the material to absorb a pigment or dye and show colour. Out of sunlight, it reverts to colourless again.

This is a fun way to educate people about the power of the sun, learn about UV rays, and learning to protecting your skin when out and about in the sun.  It is also important for kids to think about the damage the sun can cause to their skin, making these beads a more than perfect gift for them!

It really is amazing to see these beads working their magic.  When the UV beads are exposed to sunlight, and even on cloudy days, they will change from white to a range of colours, and back to white when indoors.  By two boys think they are ‘so cool’, and have brought their beads onto school to show their teachers and friends!

Simply string elastic through the beads to make an attractive bracelet or necklace; or even try making hair braids – all the girls will want them.  My boys have theirs attached to there zips on their schoolbags. And also on their shoe laces!

Specifications are as follows:-

•Pack contains around 100 UV beads
•UV beads turn from white to light blue, dark blue, purple, pink, yellow and orange
•Ideas for simple experiments are included in pack
•Not suitable for under 3s

You can purchase these Colour Changing UV Beads from Nigel’s Eco Store for £4.08.
