Now this I like! How about a wine that has huge health benefits? The range of pomegranate wines from Rimon are the only wines to be made from 100% Pomegranate juice.

Because of this, The wine retains its health giving properties; The Anti Oxidant levels are high, essential for blood circulation and a healthy heart. In fact, The Rimon Pomegranate wine contains 3 times more anti oxidants than red wine or green tea.  Vitamins A, B and C, iron and calcium are also present as well as other essential minerals.

Most things that are this good for you do not have the quality of taste to compliment. As a rule, If it tastes good – it’s bad for you! Not so with these wines, They are right up there with a good quality bottle of red.

Rimon Dry Wine is full bodied and a little cherry like, with a hint of pepper to balance. I sampled this first and it immediately raised the bar in terms of taste. Very Impressed. (£21.99)

Rimon Port Style wine is a great addition to fruity puds or the cheese board, produced in similar traditions to Port, this has a slight spice to it. Excellent for ending the evening. (£27.99)

Rimon Dessert Wine is sweet with fruity flavours and a touch of chocolate. As a dessert wine, it is excellent with desserts and soft cheeses. (£19.99 available at Waitrose)

So I give you great tasting wine and plenty of reasons to feel good whilst drinking it. Healthy wine…what more do you need?!!
(Please enjoy Alcohol responsibly)

“All the Chinese you will ever need to know” is the tag line of Wing Yip, the Chinese food ingredients supplier. The Hamper that was sent to iconic gifts would certainly agree with that, this is a foodie gift that would be long appreciated.

With Chinese New Year coinciding with Valentines day this year, this is a perfect hamper for your loved one – why not treat them to a romantic, home cooked feast?!

The set comes in a Wok and contains chop sticks and 7 different sauces and one curry sauce concentrate. The sauces include Sweet and sour, Chow mein, Black bean and Spicy Szechuan sauce.

The sauces are authentic and delicious. Wing yip have been supplying the Chinese food industry in UK for over 35 years, so the chances are you would already have tasted these products. Now, You can bring that authenticity home and create some super dishes!

The Wing Yip website offers a huge choice of Chinese, Japanese and Thai ingredients. In fact, at over 800 different items, you will never need to go anywhere else!

I tasted the curry sauce and knew that I had to go to my local butcher and splash out on something special to do the sauce justice. My duck curry will be discussed for many years (even if it’s me that starts the conversation!)

The two major plusses for me as a gift is it can be given to anyone who enjoys food (who doesn’t?) and the price. I didn’t know the price until I had given the set a good going over. At £18.99, I am staggered that such high quality and low price can be possible. A real favourite chez Paul’s.

Cockburns have every reason to be proud of their vintage 2007 releases.

The Port wine institute does not declare Vintage years every year so Cockburns Vintage and Quinta dos Canais are very special ports indeed.

Could you contemplate Christmas without a good glass of Port? As essential as the Turkey!

Cockburn’s Vintage 2007 is available from Vintage House RRP £33.95 and thedrinkshop.com RRP £32

Quinta dos Canais 2007 is available from Vintage House RRP £31.95 and thedrinkshop.com RRP £30.

Cockburns have also teamed up with specialist cheese retailer Paxton & Whitfield to match an array of fantastic cheeses with their range of white, ruby and tawny ports to encourage people to think beyond stilton and port this Christmas.

The Liquid deli, Demijohn, is a truly unique operation, offering exciting and different slants on Liqueurs, whiskies and oils.

The Demijohn bottles are beautifully individual, with handwritten detailing. The liquid inside is often inspired magic.

Grapefruit Vodka is among the base price for these liqueurs of £3.40 / 100ml. It is sharp as you would expect, but welcomely so.

Other liqueurs which I tried - I wish I hadn’t been so eager, as I will now have to re order - were Nelson’s spiced rum Liqueur, perfect for these winter evenings, a real belly warmer and Damson Gin Liqueur which I now hold dear to my heart.

The Demijohn website is fantastic and tantalising. I urge you to visit. This liquid deli, with eco values and great flavour ideas are going to go from strength to strength. As gifts, I think a couple of the 100 ml bottles would be most welcome and would see change from £10.
