Getting a tan…it’s a minefield! We are all aware of the risks that the sun can have on our skin, and that’s when the sun is shining - it’s not been great recently has it? Other options such as tan machines are equally hazardous.

Going the fake tan route is full of pitfalls too; tango skin, brown hands, ruined white tops, streaks and patches….

There is another way, and it presents no risks to your health and will not make you look daft.

Dream Remedies offer some really excellent tan pills, produced using only natural, herbal ingredients. The beauty about a tan pill is it gives an all-over tan - no white bits anymore!

1 months treatment, thirty pills cost under £15, that’s pretty good when you weigh up the costs of sun creams, fake tan or tanning booths.

If you want a tan - a natural looking tan - and do not want any health risks attached, these tanning pills have to be considered.

This Summer, be sensible. Stay out of the sun / tan booth, but glow with a healthy tan too!

The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee is now less than a month away and looks to be a huge celebration across the UK. Maybe you are planning a street party or a garden party for the weekend event?

I remember the Silver Jubilee as a young child and loved every minute. The whole street got together and threw a huge party, it would be great to re create this and pass on similar memories to my children.

For a really memorable celebration, you would want the very best (British made) Diamond Jubilee Merchandise. UK Flag Company has some great products, with a real emphasis on quality.

The range will suit all needs and budgets, and you can even have flags customised!

The flags and bunting are such good quality, they would even make lovely keepsakes for the children after the Jubilee. If you are planning a street party and want the best in Jubilee decor, check out the range at UK Flag Company.

Who doesn’t like being treated to a meal out? The perfect gift? Maybe.

Of course, it depends on the quality of the meal, not to mention the price. In these penny pinching days, it’s good to have a meal out option that will not break the bank yet still deliver quality that will ensure an enjoyable time with a loved one.

I think I have cracked it. Do you want a quality establishment, with equal quality in the food served and a bill that will make you want to dance about?

I recently went to a local Beefeater Grill. It was during a lovely spell of weather and the Bridge Barn in Woking was a perfect setting – lovely grounds right by the canal.

We went for lunch and immediately noticed it was busy. It’s always a good sign when a restaurant is busy. It’s even better when there are enough capable staff to cater for these busy periods.

The lunchtime menu is as extensive as the evening menu, featuring all the usual classic dishes. The lunch menu comes with the added bonus of having ‘value’ dishes to choose from. Fish and chips for less than a fiver, or steak and chips for £6.99!

The evening menu does also have value options available – How about 2 courses for £10.99 or 3 for £12.99?

I chose the rump steak ordered rare. The steak was tender and moist and cooked perfectly. I am guessing the chefs know their stuff, they must cook 100s of steaks and I am also guessing each steak is cooked to each customer’s specifications every time.

All this value and quality….and it gets better. Bottomless chips! Yep, a never ending supply of chips. I also appreciated the real ale choices. I went for a couple of spitfires and (again) I couldn’t find fault.

The food was perfect, the staff were excellent, the setting was beautiful and the price was the best bit.

Next time you are looking to treat your loved one, you really should consider a Beefeater Grill near you, they do not disappoint!
If you want to treat someone to a meal at a Beefeater grill, why not give them a restaurant voucher? You can find out more here.

Creating a hairstyle for a special occasion can be a difficult job. We all tend to have a couple of hairstyles we can easily do that can be quickly updated for any occasion and can keep up with changes in hairstyle trends. But wouldn’t it be lovely to be able to just see a picture and throw your hair up into it straight away? Unfortunately this is not possible; even for the most gifted of us, it takes time and effort as well as a bit of trial and error to get the look just right.

Most importantly of all it is necessary to have the right tools when you are trying out both new hairstyles as well as our old backups. Have the wrong tools and you won’t be able to do it - curling tongs will not be able to straighten your hair! The quality of tools is also important. While cheap straighteners may look good in the shop it will take far longer to straighten even the straightest of hair than if you used a reputable brand, like a ghd hair straightener.

Go Ape is the UK’s best activity day outs in the UK! Here is why!

Go Ape offer a range of high wire courses which will challenge you, give you an adrenaline rush and push you to the limits.

image

Adults (over 18 years), or Gorillas, as Go Ape call have named us, can go for £30 and Baboons £20(10-17 years under over 1.4m). For this you will get a safety briefing and 5 high wire courses to tackle – this took us about 2.5 hours, although, we were rather fast, apparently! The price seems very reasonable, especially when you compare it to a ticket to a football match or a day at a theme park. Baboons have to be accompanied by a Gorilla, contrary to what David Attenborough has been telling me for years, to keep the younger ones safe on the course.

Safety First

The day kicks off with a full and comprehensive safety briefing, which last about 30 minutes. If you listen to the brief, and if you follow all of the guidance, you will be safer than houses. You are taught how to unclip yourself and use the pullies, which are crucial to your progression on the course. At first, this a little scary, however, after the full briefing you a raring to go!
We had a particularly chatty and helpful instructor called Justin – who was patient and helpful, at all times. Also, luckily, an element of self-preservation really makes you concentrate on staying safe, whilst not interrupting the fun.

Once the brief is done – you are on your own!

Having done high wire courses and similar activities in various places across the world, it is such a fantastic feeling of independence to be let onto the course without an instructor. It really makes for a great sense of achievement and fun.

The Courses

The collection of courses is made up of 5 separate sites - each site is comprised of thrilling zip-wires, adrenaline pumping Tarzan swings.
