Wallets can be a dreary affair for some, so if you want to go for something a bit jazzy then you should take a look at this alternative men’s coin purse from Paul Smith, which measures 8cm across, 7.5cm length and 1cm depth.

Retails for £115 ($212).

A wallet for Christmas is the staple for many. However, in my view it’s such a simple gift choice that can easily be botched by buying cheap and nasty. Go quality and you won’t regret it.

Something like this Paul Smith design would be perfect which comprises a double billfold wallet with Trompe L’oeil saddle bag print, holds up to eight credit cards and a separate compartment for notes. Retails for £130 ($240).

I sometimes get a little nostalgic for some of the historic styled objects of the 20th century. Telephone booths, cars etc. If you ever feel the need to feed your nostalgic needs you could do a lot worse than to pick up one of these beautiful Red Acrylic phones.

Shades of President Kennedy during the Cuba missile crisis I think!

Retailing at £85 ($157) with AfterNoah this telephone known as the 700 series was originally introduced in 1959 and is made of lightweight plastic.

AfterNoah say:

“We offer these 746’s for sale fully reconditioned and ready to plug into a BT telephone socket. In a range of colours: Red, Ivory and Black. These are the later version of the 700 Series, losing any hint of chrome or other detail and were made into the late 1970s.”

Arriving in a fanfare of media exposure the Black Christmas Tree hit shops last year and flew off the shelves at an alarming rate. Why oh why!?

I really have nothing nice to say about these monstrosities. I happened to see one self professed “decor expert” who alliterated in vomit worthy language why the black Christmas Tree was going to be the “must have” accessory over yuletide for years to come.

Well, here’s a prediction - these things will die a rapid retail death this Christmas, never to be seen again, except maybe on Halloween!

Personally I would never stray from having the real thing but if you’re really inclined to the artificial variety then please oh please opt for something tasteful like this Crystal Tip Pre Lit variety from John Lewis.
