The supreme watchmaker Michel Parmigiani’s created a lasting classic when he developed the Parmigiani Type 370 Bugatti timepiece.

Intended to be sold only to buyers of the Bugatti Veyron supercar, the watch went on open sale due to unprecedented demand.
The prominent feature is the transverse movement which puts the dial on the side of the wrist rather than on top. This highly original design took three years to engineer and was inspired by the motoring watches of old which were worn on the side so they could be read while holding the steering wheel.
The mechanism requires winding every ten days and is accompanied by a pen shaped electric tool that has been designed specifically for the watch and can rewind it in five seconds flat.
Retailing for a staggering £139,000 ($280,000) it’s not going to be everybody’s cup of tea!!

One of the unsung heroes is the Citizen Calbre 2100. I have had one of these robust watches for years and it’s never let me down, never required winding up and never required a battery change. It’s the ultimate in low maintenance watches and it doesn’t look half bad to boot.
The key to the Citizen Calibres low maintenance is the titanium Eco Drive which draws power from any light sources.
