I review OXO quite regularly, and have never been let down by any of their products. As all are designed to make everyday living that little bit easier, the award winning
OXO Good Grips range offers over 200 stylish, yet practical tools for the home including kitchenware, organisational tools, bathroom and cleaning products.
I am so pleased to be sharing a couple of kitchen tools that will without a doubt help everyone with the Christmas Turkey this year! Whether it’s your first attempt at Christmas dinner or you’re a natural at cooking, OXO’s festive-themed kitchen tools are packed with clever hidden features bound to make any Scrooge smile.
I absolutely love the Gravy/fat separator! What a fabulous and clever tool it is! We all know that Christmas dinner wouldn’t be the same without lashings of delicious gravy. Taking the juice from your meat and using that as your gravy base in truly mouth-watering. Now, with OXO’s ingenious gravy/fat separator you can cut the unwanted fat which just greases your gravy but still keep all the goodness of a beautiful stock. Simply pour the gravy into the container and watch the fat rise and stay at the top while lean gravy settles at the bottom. Complete with strainer and stopper, the gravy/fat separator also features convenient measurement markings, while OXO’s soft trademark grip handle adds comfort and ensures a firm hold. Coming in two sizes, no matter how large your family is, there will always be enough gravy to go around! The 2 cup jug costs £10.21, and the 4 cup costs £13.28.

OXO’s Oven Thermometer could also be very useful! You can now cook up your festive feast with confidence using this clever little oven thermometer. It features large easy to read numbers and a non-slip heat resistant ring for easy handling on the shelves. The unique clip can either hang from or stand on the oven shelf, and won’t fall off while in use. Ingenious at £11.23!
The Instant read thermometer will ensure that your Christmas turkey is cooked all the way through, whilst remaining succulent and moist. With an angled face, extra large numbers and a non-slip silicone ring, this should be a little kitchen gadget that everyone should have this Christmas. There are also recommended cooking temperatures on the body of the storage sleeve which is very helpful indeed! It costs a very well spent £10.21.
The OXO range is widely available from a selection of national retailers. For stockist details visit http://www.oxouk.com or call 0114 290 1455.
I am all for freshly squeezed fruit, but have not been completely impressed with the juicers I have tried before, especially the ‘whole fruit’ juicers.
You want to be able to throw in the fruit, whole and wait for freshly squeezed juice at the other end. Too many times, my ‘whole fruit’ juicer would buckle from the pressure of something ‘substantial’ like an apple….
I am not a morning person, so my past juicing experiences have been amplified by my mood at the time.
Philips asked me to check out their HR1871 whole fruit juicer. I am now of a different opinion in terms of juicers. This was a hassle free juicing dream.

Whole fruit? It rips through them and amazingly even gives you 10% more juice than their previous model.
A lot of thought has gone into this one. You can collect up to 2.5 litres of juice in one go. The cleaning process is as easy as the juicing.
There are some whole fruit juicers that claim to juice whole fruit, but the feed tube is not wide enough for, say, an apple. Frustrating…and NOT whole fruit. You have to chop the blighters to make them fit.
Not so with the Philips juicer. An extra wide feeding chute almost beckons the fruit in – ‘Come on then, let’s see what you’ve got’ this super mean juicer taunts the fruit.
At £200 RRP, it’s a fair price. Do you want a juicer that gives you hassle and does not work as stated or do you want what I now consider to be the best whole fruit juicer in the world?
Recommended….with a massive smile – and it’s morning!

I have reviewed some product from simplehuman before and have not been let down by their products! With a goal of helping make you more efficient at home by designing innovative products that use space wisely and are built to last, simplehuman product definitely live up to it! Their great products will make tasks faster, easier, and more organised – making life simple is the key!
Making a great gift for the home this Christmas 2011 is the new and improved sensor pump. This proves to be a very popular touch-free sensor pump, doubling up as a stunning feature around your sink. It has easy-access volume control buttons on the top, and an innovative, re-engineered valve to make it compatible with a wider range of soaps, sanitizers and lotions.

It couldn’t be easier to use; simply place your hand under the sensor to dispense soap automatically – even the kiddies find it easy to use! I have my Sensor Pump placed in the kitchen and find it very handy for messy hands - especially after touching raw meat!
The Sensor Pump costs (£39.99) and could well be a very good investment for your home. simplehuman also have amazing products such as a sensor recycler, retro pedal bins, pet food bin, wall mount pumps and more, all making great gifts this Christmas time. Check out http://www.simplehuman.com to see their full collection.
I have reviewed ProCook before, and have been astounded at the unbelievable bargain that you can get. They offer incredible discounts on accessories for the kitchen at a fraction of high street prices. Procook’s graduated red salt pig, could be a simple and practical Christmas gift for many food lovers! It’s very cute and would sit wonderful on any kitchen top.

With a creamy interior and graduated red glaze, this salt pig will grace your kitchen whilst holding a generous quantity of salt at the ready. It is finished with an integral knob on the top making it easy to transport to where needed. On receiving the Salt Pig (which I must say is a fantastic name!), I was pleasantly surprised at the size of it! It is much bigger than I thought it would be, making it easy for ‘chunky’ fingers to grab whatever amount of salt needed. There is also range of oven to tableware and kitchen accessories which all match.
This lovely Salt Pig is available for £6 (saving you an amazing £6 of high street prices) from http://www.procook.co.uk.
