I have found the most amazing shop, which deals in classical Chinese furniture and antiques.  Shimu offers us a beautiful range of simple and elegant furniture and accessories, which will give your humble abode a special touch of finesse.

Shimu’s designs are all mainly bassed on the time of China’s Golden Age – the Ming Dynasty period.  This means that whatever item you buy will be pure, cleanly styled and is sure to add the classic oriental style to whichever room it is placed.  Antiques are lovingly restored by trained craftsmen, and the contemporary pieces are handmade by craftsmen in their Shanghai workshop.

Shimu state the following on their wonderful antique Chinese furniture:-

“We work with suppliers in Beijing and Shanghai to source the finest antique furniture from China’s regions. Each piece is selected for its beauty, form and functionality in a modern environment and is carefully restored to bring it a new lease of life without losing the rich patina that has formed over decades. The range of antiques we stock is constantly changing as we discover and ship new pieces and we are also able to source individual pieces on request.”

I have got up close to one of the lamps that Shimu offer us, the Silk Lotus Lamp:-

This is truly a stunning lamp, very striking and incredibly luxurious (for a lamp).  These lovely table lamps have a round wooden base and a silk shade.  The smaller lamps are available in lime green, orange or cream, and will cost you £25.  The medium sized lamp is available in a choice of either red or cream and costs £39.
