Inverawe Smokehouse Mothers Day basket review

I have written about Inverawe smokehouse before, Scotland’s premium Smoke house which offers home delivery on a range of sumptuous, gastronomically gorgeous goodies.
Last time, I had a range of smoked cheeses which turned me a little bit silly, I raved about the smoked Brie. Incidentally, last weekend, I grated the last of my smoked cheddar into some scrambled eggs. There wasn’t a lot of cheese, but taste wise, it changed everything – it goes to show what a difference quality ingredients can make.
Imagine my joy at receiving the Mothers Day gift basket (Unless you too have tasted Inverawe, you couldn’t imagine, you wouldn’t even come close)
The Basket comes in self cooled poly box ensuring optimum freshness on delivery. Inside, the best Smoked Salmon you will taste – I mean it, Heidsieck Monopole Champagne, 37.5cl, 150g MacLean’s Cocktail Oatcakes, 70g Inverawe Luxury Chocolates and Inverawe Smoked trout pate 150g.
The basket is all I have left.
Everything is as you would expect, absolute quality. The one surprise for me was the Smoked Trout Pate which is on a par with the smoked Brie from last review – stunningly moreish. With the cocktail oatcakes, I became a crazed cookie monster. The Pate is dangerously good!
All the above is yours, or Mums, for £38.50 plus P&P – bargain!
If I had to convey how good this all is, Inverawe Smokehouse have holiday cottages on site. I am planning on my own food pilgrimage this summer. Call it Quest for the Smoked Duck. I have never factored food into a holiday destination before….
Hopefully, You now understand how lovely the Inverawe range is. Maybe you would consider Your Mum to be just as lovely – I hope so. Surely your Mum deserves the ultimate compliment for being so good for all these years?
