Square Head Drivers

For some one who is a frustratingly erratic golfer, I love to dabble in any new technologies that claim to improve my game. There have been many gadgets and gizmos over the years, some of which we looked at here and here, which claim various things but don’t seem to deliver.

However, I may have found my golfing panacea in a square headed club like the Precision Made Red Square Driver Ti Matrix which retails for a very reasonable £39.99 ($80).

The theory behind this excellent re-design is that:

“The extended dimensions of this Titanium Matrix head remain within the 460cc limit and has been designed to redistribute weight to all four corners of the head, complete with graphite crown, greatly improving the stability of the club at impact, reducing horizontal and vertical twisting thereby promoting straight hitting.”

In a nutshell, this means that the club’s sweet spot is larger, increasing the percentage of your successful shots. Low and behold that’s exactly what it’s done for me. Giving an estimate I would say that the success rate of my drives off the tee has gone up by at least 50%. Not bad considering I have only used it a couple of times.

Anyway, you make your own mind up!!
