Taylor’s Port & Chocolate for Christmas 2011
Taylor’s is over 300 years old and still family owned. The First Estate is a ruby port, and is named after the first property acquired by Taylor’s in 1744. Taylor’s First Estate makes for a splendid after dinner tipple, and like all classic full-bodied ports, it’s great with all rich cheeses. It is also excellent paired with Brix Chocolate.

This wood box presentation of Taylors First Estate Reserve Port is presented with an 8oz block of Brix Chocolate. It looks luxurious and would make a great gift for many.
The Port itself is ready for drinking immediately, and there is no need to decant. It is best served at room temperature. Taylor’s First Estate is rich, full bodied and brimming with black fruits. It is of a deep garnet in colour and delivers hints of Christmas cake making it a warming and satisfying tipple.
Presented at the top of the wooden box is a bar of BRIX Dark Chocolate (54%), containing enough cocoa content to seduce the most demanding palates. This chocolate is so pure in flavour that it actually enhances the Port without confusing the palate. This smooth dark chocolate has been specially selected to pair with Taylors First Estate, sharing a mutual richness and complexity.
Taylor’s First Estate Port & BRIX Chocolate costs £26.99, which I feel is a fantastic price for what you get and can be found in Selfridges. Check out http://www.taylor.pt for further information on Taylor’s and also international stockists.
