If you’re looking for the perfect Easter Egg gift then the Hipper 100 could be it. Your gift recipient won’t be putting on weight with chocolate, but will be rocking to a coordinated music and light show!

The egg shaped Hipper 100 is a kind of funky MP3 player that responds to the music you’re playing by flashing in a range of ten different colours.

Interestingly, the colours mellow with chilled out sounds and brighten to reds and oranges with more pumping tunes. We understand that it can be connected to virtually any MP3 player (although check before you buy).

The Hipper 100 interface is a standard USB or line in. Any music player can be connected via line in and will be played back through the internal 2W speaker located at the base of the unit.

There is also a line out socket in case you wish to amplify the music from the Hipper 100.

This nifty little device retails for around £40 ($70) on Playengine.co.uk and has the following spec:

• MP3 Player with LED lights and speaker via USB interface.

• The LED lights change to 10 different colours to the beat of your music.

• No software required! Designed with advanced OTG (on the go) technology, you simply plug and play.

• Easy to connect with MP3 Players via line-in or USB.

• The Hipper Mood Lamp doesn’t run off batteries, but can be used in different countries using a power adapter.

• Easy to connect to external speaker sets to amplify your music via line-out.

READER COMMENTS:

This reminds me of the egg shaped mini fridge that was doing the rounds on the gift and “stuff” sites a while ago.

Too many of these egg shaped objects around the house and it will start to resemble the set of “Cocoon”.
