Are you on the look out for the latest in earphone technology? If you are, the KEF M100s are not to be missed and should be seriously considered as your next audio purchase.
KEF was founded way back in 1961 by Raymond Cooke (OBE), so they know a thing or two about high performance audio and audio innovation. The M100s are some of the latest offerings from this long running brand and we were lucky enough to review a pair. Here is what we thought…
As can be seen below, the sleek, lightweight precision-machined aluminium build is easy on the eye and comes in four colours (Racing Blue, Sunset Orange, Titanium Grey and Champagne Gold). Our racing blue pair oozed class and the feel of a very high end quality product. Each curve and edge of these headphones perfectly flowed to make a really attractive set of earphones. Aside from the look, the fit of the earphones was also snug for us and the angle of the design made for a comfy experience. The sound produced by the M100s is driven by damped full-range 10mm neodymium drivers and a unique angled chamber engineered to minimise distortion. The result is a listening experience which has clarity, depth and accuracy. We tested the sound across a range of music from rock to classical and we found the sound performance to be high across them all. The £119.95 price tag is relatively competitive with other industry leaders; however, we have to say the M100s are some of the best in terms of performance.
The headphones also claim “industry standard protection against excessive sound pressure, [so] you can enjoy true high resolution sound whenever, wherever and for as long as you wish.”
The headphones come with a handy inline microphone, volume control, new eartips (small, medium and large), a flight adapter and a carry pouch too. The M100s claim to combine superior comfort and high resolution sound for the ultimate on the go performance. In short, we think they achieve this in abundance! Buy them here.
