Lumie SAD desk lamp review
Featured as one of The Independent’s top 10 SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) lamps, the Lumie Desklamp offers support to those who suffer in the darker winter months. After just 30 minutes of using the Lumie Desklamp each day you’ll notice a positive change. I’m someone who suffers from the condition really badly, especially between January – March. My motivation disappears and I get the notion of wanting to sleep (more like hibernate!) for the entire period. My work therefore suffers along with my general happiness. I can’t wait to give this little lifesaver a go.
The lamp is looks fantastic, is flexible necked (adjustable), touch controlled and has 4 brightness settings, which trigger the powerfully bright blue-enriched white LEDs, which replicate daylight.
The Lumie Desklamp may not be the cheapest on the market, but as far as going on aesthetics, it’s one of the best looking and hosts the most features. Lumie is one of the longest running brands to specialise in creating products to help fight the effects of Seasonal Affective Disorder, so these guys can back up their technology with both extensive research and experience.
The Lumie Desklamp retails for around £120, and even better… SAD sufferers get the VAT back!
The desklamp has already found pride of place on my desk, which I tend to sit at for at least 6 hours per day. I have a feeling I’m going to be sharing a desk with a number of people come Winter!
