New Commemorative Charity Monsters Inc. Gold Heart Badge From Variety

A specially themed Gold Heart Badge has been designed to raise money for sick, disabled and disadvantaged children supported by the children’s charity Variety to coincide with the 3D re-release of Monsters Inc.

The special edition badge will help to raise funds for children and young people who are sick, disabled and disadvantaged and is now available from the online Variety Shop for £3 and at selected cinemas and retailers across the UK for £1, including Odeon, H Samuel, Leeds Building Society and Gold Hearts sponsor Cineworld Cinemas.

Since 1991, Variety`s Gold Heart Appeal has been the charity`s signature campaign in the UK and worldwide. In recent years Variety has worked with major film companies, including Disney, Lucasfilms, Paramount, DreamWorks, and Warner Bros. to design an annual special edition badge, based on a universally recognised film, character or celebrity that is sold primarily in selected cinemas, venues and retailers across the U.K. To date, Variety`s Gold Heart appeal has raised more than £20 million to help thousands of children and young people in U.K.

Marsha Rae Ratcliff, creator of Variety`s Gold Hearts and the first woman to become Chief Barker of Variety, the Children`s Charity, in Great Britain, said “The Variety Gold Heart Appeal gives love and support for sick, disabled and disadvantaged children and young people who need our help. We are grateful to Disney and Pixar for their support and partnership on this year`s Monsters Inc themed badge as well as to the public who continue to purchase these and help raise funds for the sick, disabled and disadvantaged children we work with across the UK.”

The badge is available in the U.K at the Variety website and at Odeon/UCI Cinemas, Cineworld Cinemas, H Samuel, Leeds Building Society.
