The mechanism is made from 354 minutely engineered parts, 41 tiny screws and 31 rubies. It takes 9 months to build and is accurate to 1/10th of a second. To put this in perspective other timepieces only manage 1/7th of a second. The retail price of the Zenith El Primero Grande Class Open is £5,200 ($10,400).
